Art is an integrated part of the BRiX culture and personality. With the leasing office opening this coming October, it is only natural that art is given a special place.
This summer, BRiX launched a contest and invited visual artists to submit their original artwork on the theme ‘’Home is where your story begins’’.
Our deepest thanks to everyone who participated. It’s with great excitement that we present the shortlisted art pieces. The selection of the winning piece will be made by a public poll on our Facebook page

As we get older, we may come to the realization that what has often brought us many sentiments of comfort, and joy stems back from our very own home.
From the time we move out of our parents, to the point when we begin our own life journey, our home can tell us a story of life. Experiences of which we may reminisce and cherish.
As we may one day begin to start our own family and build our own stories, we can continue to create beautiful memories, and say, “there is no place like home.”

Aérographe, acrylique et résine
Nous provenons tous de l’univers. Mon oeuvre rappelle la formation des planètes et des galaxies lors de la création de la Terre. Elle interroge les spectateurs au sujet de leurs véritables origines, laissant place à l’évolution que l’humain a accompli depuis tout ce temps. Le côté spirituel de l’oeuvre en ressort grâce à ses couleurs rappelant une photo aérienne des galaxies et de l’univers.

In my work as an interpreter for refugees and immigrants, I am constantly interacting with people who have come to Montreal to make this city their new home. My art is largely influenced by the people I meet in this context. Their new beginning becomes part of my story, and also keeps me connected to my own personal journey.
This particular work represents those who have come here to start all over. To many, they are faceless and nameless. But they all have a common story thread: to begin anew.

L’aventure ne commence pas ailleurs; elle commence chez soi, par la reconnaissance constitutive de ce qui nous entoure. Ici, je propose un voyage dans le temps présent, un voyage contemporain aux saveurs imparfaites et empreintes de nostalgie et d’une quête identitaire. Le passage de l’être humain en ces lieux témoigne d’une diversité d’occupations et d’intérêts divergents. C’est en retournant sur ces lieux parfois tombés dans un certain oubli et en me réappropriant ceux-ci que je résiste aux effets du passage du temps qui résulte occasionnellement en une perte de sens et par la suite, d’identité.
À l’aide de mon travail de mémoire et de représentation qui figent dans le temps l’état actuel de mes sujets, je témoigne d’un sentiment d’appartenance collectif et de la construction d’une identité renouvelée sur ces paysages urbains qui ont évolué au fil du temps.
